"BETWEEN WAR AND PEACE"
On Friday, November 26, 2021, the Promotion Room of the University of Kinshasa was the setting for a conference-debate jointly organized by the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), the Pan-African University of Governance and Innovations (UPGI) and the University of Aix-Marseille. It was moderated by the Professor Jacky Bouju around the theme : “Between War and Peace: The Violence of Organized Chaos in the Sahel”.
Professor Jacky Bouju is a researcher at the Institut des Mondes Africains (IMAF) and a lecturer in anthropology at Aix-Marseille University in France. In his speech, he drew lessons from the ongoing war and the weakening of the state in the Sahel to understand the persistence of armed conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
We can note the presence at these meetings of the Rector of Unikin, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe, of the Secretary General for Research of Unikin, Professor Antoine Tshimpi, of the President of the Board of Directors of UPGI, Professor Célestin Musao as well as of numerous sectoral entities: Higher Military Schools, College of Advanced Studies in Strategy and Defense, Kinshasa War College, School of Criminology, Center for Political Studies, School of Security, Peace and Strategic Intelligence, Water Resources Research Center, etc.
After Professor Jacky Bouju's presentation, a lively debate ensued, led by Professor Michel Bisa.
