AUF organizes two doctoral colleges to limit brain drain

More than 70 doctoral students and experts from Central Africa and the Great Lakes took part in two doctoral colleges on the campus of the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC) in Yaoundé from December 6 to 10, 2021.

The University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF) of Central Africa and the Great Lakes has piloted the doctoral colleges of two different sectors. Namely on the one hand the Social Sciences, Humanities and Heritage, and on the other the Hard Sciences, including the Regional Doctoral College ''Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioscience and Environmental Geoscience and the Regional Doctoral College ''Humanities and Societies''

This event was attended by two UNIKIN professors who are members of the Steering Committee of each of these two colleges, namely Professor Kasoro (Faculty of Sciences) and Raoul Kienge-Kienge of the Faculty of Law and Director of the School of Criminology, Coordinator of the Social Changes and Sustainable Development workshop of the Humanities and Societies college.
On the doctoral students' side, there was CT Masamanki from the Faculty of Law (who was chosen to deliver the words of thanks for the doctoral students from the College of Humanities and Societies), Assistant TSHAMA KANUBI from the Faculty of Social Sciences (Department of Anthropology) and CT MUKENGERE Matthieu, doctoral student in International Relations.

For your information, there was a doctoral student from UNILU, one from Goma.
And regarding the young doctors, there was a colleague from Bukavu and another from the UPN.
In short, UNIKIN was well represented. These doctoral students will have to prepare their applications for the call for applications in order to benefit from mobility within AUF universities, preferably in French-speaking Africa.
