DAY OF JOY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KINSHASA.

Under worrying weather, a scorching sun which regularly alternated with a sky covered with dark clouds, it was held at the University of Kinshasa, this Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the great academic degree conferral ceremony and official closing of the 2020-2021 academic year.

A beautiful procession heralded the start of the event. It was carried out by members of the management committee, led by the Rector, followed by the representative of the Minister of ESU, his chief of staff. Professor Mudogo as well as the deans of faculties or their representatives.

With a masterful hand, the communications director Mr. Matthieu Iyempila was responsible for moderating this great ceremony, the highlights of which were as follows:

1. There ecumenical prayer of the chaplains established on the university site.

2. The speech of the Academic Secretary General, THE Professor Eustache Banza.

It focused mainly on the particular and difficult context in which activities took place at Unikin during the 2020-2021 academic year: compliance with the academic calendar in a modular system, execution of teaching programs, academic succession, the deaths of many scientific bodies (a minute of silence was observed in their memory), etc.

3. The speech of the Secretary General for Research, THE Professor Antoine Tshimpi.

He recalled that the General Secretariat for Research is a new structure within the management committee, which provides supervision for doctoral students (87 thesis defenses during this academic year), the supervision of laboratories, research centers, libraries and museums, the promotion of research results, etc.

4. The word of the Rector, THE Professor Jean-Marie KayembeHe insisted on the place of the student in the sustainable development of the nation and on the reputation of Unikin as being a university-solution.

6. The word of the representative of the winners, Mr. John Salumu, consisting mainly of thanks to the current management committee.
7. There publication of resultsThe various deans of faculties or their representatives paraded for the proclamation of their laureates.
