The Unikin Management Committee, headed by Mr. Rector, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, organized this Tuesday 1er In March 2022, an ecumenical service was held to welcome new students enrolled in the 2021-2022 academic year. Deans of the faculties and other academic and administrative authorities were invited.
In collaboration with the Chaplains established on the inspired hill, this service took place in the Unikin promotions room, under the theme: “The pacification of the university site”The Chaplains present were:Abbot Georges Njila (Catholic Chaplain), the Reverend Edward Ngungu(Protestant Chaplain), the Dr. Israel Soku(Chaplain of the Revival Churches) and the Pastor Jean-Marie Bofio(Kimbaguiste Chaplain).

In his sermon, Father Georges Njila declared that peace is an activity of God's children. Since students are children of God, they must practice maintaining peace. Addressing academic authorities, the Catholic chaplain insisted that science should not be separated from spirituality; to do so would be barbaric.
Reverend Edouard Ngungu, for his part, used 1 Timothy 4:12-16 to draw three truths from it:
- Being exemplary is one of the fundamental qualities of effective leadership. The student who studies today is preparing to lead tomorrow.
- Renewal of intelligence: a renewed intelligence is based on moral and ethical values.
- Progress: after hard and effective work, each day that passes must be an opportunity to move forward, to progress.
In response to these messages, voices were raised to give thanks to the Lord.

Speaking for his closing remarks, the Rector of Unikin, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba knelt in reverence and asked the audience to observe a minute of silence in memory of Monsignor Tharcisse Tshibangu, 1er Rector of Unikin. He thanked the chaplains who had amply demonstrated that one can pray to the same God regardless of race. He then welcomed the new students while encouraging them to respect the rules of good conduct (including courtesy and mutual respect, and the cleanliness of the university environment).
The collection from this religious service will be used to provide aid to the sick.
