Courtesy visit from the delegation of the Free University of Brussels (ULB) and the Free University of Brussels (VUB)

The Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, received this Wednesday, April 23, 2022 at 12:20 p.m., a courtesy visit from a delegation of professors from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Staying in Kinshasa as part of the study day "Kinshasa-Brussels, around heritage issues, architecture, urban planning, landscape, social entrepreneurship, cooperation", the delegation was composed for the ULB, of: Pablo Lohas, Marcelle Rabinowicz, respectively Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta; Yves Robert from the same Faculty; Amandine Lauro from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences/Department of History, Art and Archaeology.

The VUB member of the delegation was historian Bénoît Henriet. The discussions focused on the Rector's great concern for the preservation of the University of Kinshasa's archives, as well as the prospects for collaborations in various multidisciplinary themes and networks of institutions and researchers. The delegation was then led by the Secretary General for Research, Professor Antoine Tshimpi, on a tour of the University Museums, the Léon de Saint-Moulin Open-Air Amphitheater, and the archives at the Central Library.

These activities were attended by Professors Liassa, Pascal Kapagama, and Georges Mvumbi, respectively Vice-Dean in charge of research at the Polytechnic Faculty, Coordinator of Cooperation and International Relations at UNIKIN, Coordinator of ARES-UIKIN, as well as two scientists from the Polytechnic Faculty. The delegation left very satisfied with these activities and the efforts made by the current governance team of the University of Kinshasa.
