Launched on February 26, 2022, the Rector Challenge, an inter-faculty football tournament, ended this Saturday, March 26, 2022.
A colorful ceremony at the University of Kinshasa's sports center was the subject of the Rector's Challenge Final organized under the high patronage of the Rector of Unikin.
In his opening remarks, UNIKIN's Secretary General for Research, Professor Antoine Tshimpi Wola, thanked all the faculties that took part in the challenge. He expressed his satisfaction at the recognition shown by women, seeing a young woman among the referees.

After the kickoff given by the Secretary General for Research at Unikin, the final match began. It pitted teams from the Faculties of Science and Petroleum, Gas and Renewable Energies (PGER). The first goal was scored in the fifth minute by the Faculty of Science team, and the equalizer came in the twenty-fifth minute of play. After a score of two to two, a penalty shootout was held, which ended six to five in favor of the PGER Faculty.
The Unikin Management Committee presented encouragement envelopes to representatives of the various faculty teams participating in the competition. Medals were then presented to the referees, the day's finalists, and the organizers.
In his closing remarks, the Rector of Unikin emphasized that sport should be a means of peace and cohesion, promoting the fight against all forms of violence. Addressing the losers, the Rector of Unikin encouraged them for future competitions: "losers for a day, not losers forever."
