The weekly research magazine for the week of March 28 to April 3, 2022

The Weekly Research Magazine No. 3

The University of Kinshasa's Major Conferences and Training Courses (GCFUK) continue to ramp up!

The week of March 28 to April 3, 2022 (Week 13; 2022), was that of the earstemmology and research methodology! And on Friday, April 8th (how to write a scientific article), we're doing it again!

  1. March 28, 29, 30, 3 days of intense work, the CRIIC, the Congolese Independent and Interdisciplinary Research Center, supported by the General Secretariat for Research/Unikin, dressed up in gala attire, like its prestigious animators such as Professors Kalele, Ebweme, Tsambu;
  2. One hundred and forty-five (145) participants on the 1ster day, 150 on the 2ndth, nearly 160 on the 3rdth ; you really have to look away on purpose, while the scent of research becomes more and more irresistible on the inspired (or breathed) hill. You have the right to skip the sessions, but we, whose DNA is Unikin, like you, are waiting for you...;
  3. We'll let you imagine this casting, out of category, with actors such as Professors Kabeya Tshikuku, Bongeli, Palama, Mpiana, Longo-Mbenza;
  4. By the way, have you really got your current research project under control? Have you thought carefully about your methodology and not your methodism (Tsambu)? Your hypotheses, in the present tense and not the conditional (Kabeya)? Have you, if applicable, integrated a legal criticism (Mingashang)? For that, and to be more comfortable, it is advisable to read… Karl Max! Have you written without plagiarism (Bisa, Tshimpi, Memvanga)?

Cultural and artistic news is currently dominated by "transitional justice and the issues of the restitution of bodies or human remains."

  1. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, a workshop day was held at the National Museum. Researchers from our alma mater, Prof. Mumbembele, DG ai, and some in-house researchers took part;
  2. On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the discussion continued at Unikin, in the Luc Gillon Promotions room, under the leadership of the criminology school led by its Director, Professor Kienge-Kienge;
  3. The university must be present and contribute to the recovery of human remains and objects stolen during the colonial period, but also to their restoration, conservation, research, etc.

By the way, April just started

  •  And it will soon give way to May! At the end of May, our mid-term ranking at Unikin will appear. Soon, each of us will be taking stock of our deliverables, as announced last February. How many publications have you published in the last 6 months? How many participations in symposia, seminars, conferences, articles, in person or virtually (with attendance certificates)? How many articles commented and/or corrected? Scientific day organized by the department? Etc.

Last point,

  1. How many times this past week have you logged onto the Unikin website (unikin.ac.cd)? Your faculty's website? I assume this is a daily occurrence for you, as an academic, scientist, or researcher...

Save the date

  1. Plan 145 territories (Bis) ; Deadline for submission of faculty proposals (VDRSA) has passed, a working committee is being formed;
  2. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Monekoso room : Gender at Unikin. Women's Empowerment in the Age of Climate Change;
  3. Friday, April 8, 2022, Monseigneur Luc Gillon Promotions Room. Scientific Research, from writing to publication of a scientific article/work: the question of publication in an indexed journal/edition with an impact factor; a pragmatic approach (paid training - 20 USD);
  4. Saturday, April 9, 2022, Monekoso room: conference - Debate of women professors.
