SUMMARY

This study, entitled "Marriage for All in the Face of the Globalization of Culture in the DRC. A Sociological Study Conducted in the City of Kinshasa," is a reflection on the globalization of culture as a phenomenon characteristic of contemporary societies, in the context of the expansion of Western capitalism driven by the philosophy of neoliberalism. Using the global expansion of marriage for all, of Western origin, as a pretext, the study projects itself into the future of the DRC to analyze the likelihood of Congolese society adopting this cultural practice and understand the consequences that would result for the national culture.
The research is based on the hypothesis that the majority of Congolese people would be rather opposed to the advent of "marriage for all" in their society, given the political, socio-economic and socio-cultural issues and challenges that marriage for all represents for Congolese culture and society.
In order to ensure the production and analysis of data collected in the field from a diverse sample chosen using the snowball technique, and to verify our research hypothesis, we used the dialectic of antagonism as an analysis method and techniques of direct observation, questionnaire, focus group and content analysis.

The analysis concluded that in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in Kinshasa in particular, marriage for all as a phenomenon experienced on a large scale does not yet exist.
The few homosexual couples recorded live in hiding because marriage for all is not adopted either in the Congolese Constitution, or even in general Congolese culture.
