Implementing the recommendations of EGESU-2021, UNIKIN shared its experience with the Secretaries General in search of the country's

The Rector of the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, opened a workshop on Monday at UNIKIN on the theme: role and functioning of the general research secretariat, experience of the first six months at UNIKIN, exchanges and sharing of experiences with other institutions ".

In his speech, Rector Kayembe welcomed the organization of this workshop on the instructions of the Minister of Higher and University Education (ESU), Muhindo Nzangi, with the aim of developing a research policy at UNIKIN which should serve as a working basis for other institutions in the DRC where this post of Secretary General of Research has been created.

Addressing the various secretaries general in charge of research at ESU establishments in the DRC, he explained the results expected by the Minister of ESU from this workshop which is organized on April 11 and 12, 2022, by his Alma mater in collaboration with the "National mechanism for monitoring and evaluating the resolutions of the DRC 2021 general assembly".

The Secretary General in charge of research at UNIKIN, who is also the coordinator of this Mechanism, Professor Antoine Tshimpi, outlined the objectives of this workshop, which will focus in particular on the creation of this new position in the DRC, the different stages of its implementation, the definition of its role, and reflection on resilient ways and means for the generalization of doctoral schools in the Republic.

He also said that awareness-raising on quality assurance indicators and its daily functioning and its relationship with other sectors of the institution is also discussed.

The Permanent Secretary of the Permanent Commission for Studies (CPE), Professor Kabule Weva and the Director of CPE Martin Makumbu as well as other university professors are facilitators of this two-day workshop.
