Management of Solid Waste in Public Spaces in Kinshasa

The management of SOLID WASTE IN PUBLIC SPACES IN KINSHASA was the subject of a doctoral work, publicly defended this Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the University of Kinshasa, by Doctoral Student Jules KASSAY NGUR-IKONE from the Faculty of Social, Administrative and Political Sciences.

Here are some areas for reflection, among others:
1. Solid waste management in Kinshasa is, in the eyes of the researcher, theoretically decentralized; but is not so in practice!; Anomaly to be corrected urgently;
2. This management remains too concentrated in the hands of those in power when it should be “democratized”;
3. Waste should be managed locally, at the municipal level and not at the provincial level....
4. It is noted, unfortunately, a context of aging, overcrowding and inadequacy of the texts of Waste Management in the DRC.
