The Minister of Higher and University Education (ESU), Muhindo Nzangi Butondo, carried out an inspection visit this Wednesday, June 1, 2022

In order to assess the progress of the various rehabilitation and construction projects on the site of the University of Kinshasa, the Minister of Higher and University Education (ESU), Muhindo Nzangi Butondo, carried out an inspection visit this Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Accompanied by the Rector of Unikin, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe, and its Management Committee, the number one of the ESU began his visit with the construction site of a modern building which will house auditoriums, teachers' offices, a modern restaurant... The updated construction plan of this building was presented to them by Mr. Philippe Vauthier of the General Intendance.

The second highlight is the official launch of the rehabilitation and modernization work on Homes 10 and 30. The associated roads will also be rehabilitated and modernized to combat insecurity. The entire university site will be fenced to limit intrusions.

Pursuing the Head of State's vision to provide Unikin with refurbished and furnished Homes, the delegation inquired about the level of refurbishment of Homes 80, 150 and Vatican. The sports complex was also visited. The ongoing work is being carried out by the Mango company.

The erosion of the site was not left out.

The student council welcomed this visit, which is a positive response to the complaints made to the supervisory authority. The EGECOK company is back to continue the rehabilitation and modernization work on the homes. The students will be relocated gradually. The furniture will be manufactured on-site by the General Intendance.

The Rector of Unikin warmly thanked the Head of State and the Minister responsible for the realization of this major project. A new dress was presented to the eldest daughter of the DRC universities.
