A plastic bottle recycling plant in the making

A four-party meeting bringing together the Mayor of the commune of Lemba, Mr. Jean Nsaka, the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba as well as the company delegates "Ok Plast" And "Angel Cosmetics", was held this Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Unikin, around a partnership project dedicated to the establishment of a plastic waste recycling station behind Home 30 and the Mbanza Lemba district.

After a visit to the sites selected for this project, the Mayor of the commune of Lemba accompanied by the delegates of the companies "Ok Plast" And "Angel Cosmetics" He said the goal of this project is to reduce the rate of plastic waste in the university environment and support the vision of Kinshasa City Governor Gentiny Ngobila, who advocates for a clean environment. Poor management of plastic bottles is one of the main causes of unsanitary conditions in the city-province of Kinshasa.

For his part, the Rector of Unikin, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, expressed satisfaction with the discussions held with his hosts. He expressed his support for the establishment of this company on the university campus: this would help reduce illnesses related to uncleanliness and provide vacation jobs for students.

This fight against the proliferation of plastic bottles at Unikin will also be carried out with the support of the Kintoko company.
