PUBLIC DEFENSE OF A DOCTORAL DISSERTATION, REMINDER OF SOME RULES

"...it's the first time I've seen this," or even, "it doesn't happen like this elsewhere...", some thesis jury members sometimes say. What "elsewhere"? Even elsewhere, practices are different and often contextualized! So, let's get involved and sometimes have the courage to praise some of our practices, for example, the ceremonial of the thesis process at Unikin.
I ask you a question again, as in Weekly No. 44: "In the last three months, how many times have you attended, I say attended, a thesis defense?" Many of us are surprised by the adaptations and reorganizations gradually instilled in its proceedings. A public thesis defense, the birth of a scholar, must remain solemn. This ceremony must remain unique for each of us, following rules laid down by the institution, based on legal texts.
