“Combating plastic pollution at Unikin through collective sanitation.” This is the theme of World Environment Day, celebrated this Monday, June 5, 2023, at the University of Kinshasa. On the occasion of this celebration, a batch of sanitation equipment, including a tricycle, was presented to the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba.

Several bins were also placed in various corners of the university campus to collect biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable waste. Several institutions and organizations took part in this ceremony, including Kinshasa City Hall, UNESCO, and the Kasa-vubu Municipality.
