It was held on August 12, 2023, a civic morning organized by the economic forum office on the occasion of International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12 of each year.
The theme chosen by the United Nations for this year is " green economy" and in relation to this theme the office of the economic forum had chosen the theme "youth and ethical values for a healthy environment »

Today's program

On the program

were planned:
1. Communication from the faculty delegate;
2. Speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management;
3. Word from the President of the Economic Forum
4. Waste collection and cleaning activities on the university site

This activity, open to the university public, saw the participation of several officials, namely:

  • The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Barthelemy KALAMBAYI;
  • the president of the economic forum of the University of Kinshasa, Joël BUSHABU
  • The principal assistant to the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Jocelyn MANTEPA MANTEPA;
  • The faculty delegate of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Semay KAHULU;
  • The deputy faculty delegate of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Moise MABAYA;
  • the secretary general of the economic forum of the University of Kinshasa, Arjule Berius EMO NGAMINGAMI;

Summary

1. Communication from the faculty delegate
In his communication, the faculty delegate recalled the importance of International Youth Day for
the United Nations and for the youth of the whole world and in relation to the theme of the day, the faculty delegate
asked the assistant to pay close attention to the Dean of the Faculty's speech.

2. Speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and management
In his speech, the dean demonstrated the relationship that exists between the officials of the Faculty of Economics and Management and the students, this relationship that he described as friendly, he demonstrated it by this regular proximity between the students and the authorities. He challenged the fellow students on their status as young people which is an intermediate stage between childhood and full maturity, the latter invited the academic youth to take their responsibilities because they are the future and the next generation.

"For this future to be pleasant, we must all adopt ethical values that promote a clean environment through good management of all categories of waste in the auditoriums, corridors, parking lots and the garden of the Faculty of Economics and Management," insisted the Dean of the Faculty.
As a student at the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Dean invited his classmates to take an interest in
the so-called "green economy" because garbage also etymologically means "garbage", that is to say waste is also a form of gold if it is recycled and used as raw materials in masonry, automobiles, etc.

In his capacity as head of the Centre for Capacity Building and Studies on Health, Population and
development, CRESPOD in acronym, Dean Barthelemy KALAMBAYI distributed the first two issues of the
comic strip “Deborah” entitled “WHEN UNSALUBRITY KILLS”.

3. Word from the President of the Economic Forum
In his address, the president of the forum invited the audience to oppose the act and to participate in the civic activity of collecting waste on the university campus.

4. Waste collection and cleaning activities on the university site
Together with the faculty delegation, the Economic Forum office carried out tasks of waste collection, cleaning of walls, garden, parking lot, auditoriums and emptying the faculty's trash cans to link theory to practice.

The ceremony began at 1:15 p.m. and lasted 1 hour 51 minutes, until 3:06 p.m.
