LEARN TO UNDERSTAND, DISCOVER TO KNOW
The University of Kinshasa, like other Congolese universities, has essential missions that can be summarized as "Research, Teaching, and Community Service." However, given UNIKIN's weak influence on the global educational scene, it undoubtedly needs to undergo profound changes to emerge from its current ivory tower and become a true incubator of social dreams for the Congolese people. It must place itself at the forefront of progress to train truly competent and conscientious specialists, bearers of moral and spiritual values, because science without conscience is nothing but the ruin of the soul: "Scientia splendet et conscientia." The splendor of science lies in the truth it carries within it. Knowledge shines where there is conscience. Academic knowledge must be in harmony with the good sought in the community. But knowledge applied outside this framework of conscience is more harmful than ignorance.
