The University of Kinshasa (Unikin) conferred academic titles on Friday, December 29, 2023, to 2,096 graduates from different cycles, during a ceremony which marked the end of the 2022-2023 academic year within this alma mater of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"In accordance with legal provisions, I confer academic titles on the 2,096 graduates, including 77 doctors, 139 post-graduate graduates (DEA/DES) and 1,850 graduates, engineers and doctors," noted Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, Rector of this university establishment.
These are the finalists from the 13 faculties who successfully completed the end-of-cycle exams and the defense of their doctoral dissertations and theses with satisfaction and distinction, or even great distinction.
On this occasion, the Rector of Unikin congratulated the various winners, asking them to use their intelligence to promote the sustainable development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ten axes of strategic transformation of UNIKIN
Furthermore, Rector Kayembe recalled, in his general policy speech, the ten axes on which the management committee is relying for the strategic transformation of the University of Kinshasa.
These are the axes based in particular on the enterprising and innovative university, the redefinition of the UNIKIN-public-private sector contract, governance, digitalization and digitization.
Previously, the Academic Secretary General, Professor Eustache Banza Nsomwe and the Secretary General for Research of the inspired hill presented the report for the year 2022-2023 in their respective sectors.
Founded by Bishop Luc Gillon in 1954, Unikin currently has a staff of more than 1,300 professors, 7,052 staff and nearly 30,000 students.
