The entire staff of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa is committed to improving its image. The commitment was made during a meeting with the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba. The meeting was held on Friday, January 12, 2023, at the Monekosso Hall. Rector Kayembe painted a grim picture of what was once the flagship of Lovanium University, welcoming patients from abroad. "Seen in the past as a temple of knowledge, the Faculty of Medicine currently has a poor reputation," insisted the Head of the UNIKIN Management Committee.

Guidance was given to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Heads of the Decentralized Entities of the said faculty. Professor MBUNGU, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor MASHINDA, Director of the School of Public Health, Professor MAKULO RISSASSI, Medical Director of the University Clinics of Kinshasa and Professor NGOMA, Medical Director of the Neuro-Psychopathological Center, received the green light from the Management Committee of the University of Kinshasa for the application, against recalcitrants, of the scale of sanctions contained in the Vade mecum of the Manager of Higher and University Education Establishments.
