Construction of a remote sensing station at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Kinshasa

The project to build a remote sensing station for the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences was presented this Friday, March 1, 2024, to the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA. The Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Professor KINKELA SAVY, led the delegation of partners involved in the implementation of the project. The Director General of the Central Coordination Office (Bceco) Jean MABI, the Donors' Group represented by Professor Jean-Robert BWANGOY and Professor Raymond LUMBUENAMO, the DG Robert MALUMBA KALOMBO, whose company was selected for the construction and Professor TITO LIMBAYA, from the Polytechnic Faculty, selected for technical supervision, were all present. They agreed on the terms of the station's construction.

It will be housed in a modern, three-story building on the University of Kinshasa campus. The construction, estimated to cost several million dollars, is being financed by carbon credit funds.
