The Alma Mater Campus Radio of the University of Kinshasa Reopens Its Airwaves

On Friday, July 26, 2024, the University of Kinshasa celebrated the official relaunch of its Alma Mater Campus Radio, marking a significant milestone after nearly ten years of silence. The ceremony took place in the Council Room of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, welcoming a large audience of academic staff and students.
The radio station's mission is to promote the University's influence and strengthen the commitment of the entire university community. Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of Radio Campus Alma Mater, Professor Jean-Paul MBUYA KUTUMISA, emphasized the importance of this initiative, which aims to be both informative and responsible. “We will prioritize broadcasting news and activities of the University of Kinshasa staff and members of our community,” he stated, while emphasizing the promotion of the country's laws, the Higher and University Education sector, as well as the University's internal regulations.

During his speech, the Administrative Secretary General, Professor Bruno LAPIKA, representing the Rector, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, also urged staff and students to use this platform to make UNIKIN's voice heard. This initiative is seen as a way to renew dialogue within the university community and promote the values of Higher and University Education.
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Pamphile MABIALA MANTUBA, highlighted the power of radio as a communication tool. “It must be a vehicle for value and exchange, thus strengthening our academic identity and our social commitment,” he said.
Over the coming weeks, Radio Campus Alma Mater will use its various programs to stimulate exchanges between students, professors, and the general public, while becoming the voice of initiatives and events at the University of Kinshasa.
