Background to the International African Youth Forum for African Development

Our distinguished greetings, Mr. Rector of the Mother University of the Country, the University of Kinshasa.

We are pleased to inform you that this major event aims primarily to promote the Democratic Republic of Congo, with particular emphasis on the University of Kinshasa.

This forum brings together young people from around the world, all driven by a shared interest in African development issues. The event was inaugurated yesterday, December 12, 2024, at MONUSCO, on the way to Utex Africa, in the commune of Ngaliema. During this meeting, participants discussed key topics such as entrepreneurship, politics, governance, and security.

The insightful presentations of distinguished panelists, such as Mr. Bodom Matungulu (President of the DRC Strategy Think Tank) and the Ambassador of Japan, played a crucial role in the discussions on the continent's economic and social development. Activities continue today and will officially close tomorrow, December 14, at the University of Kinshasa, in the AUF room of the central library, where a certificate presentation ceremony will be held, presided over by the Rector.

Next Sunday and Monday will be devoted to visits to tourist sites in the Congolese capital to offer delegates, panelists and organizers a moment of relaxation after these intense days of reflection.

We are convinced that the development of the African continent depends on the commitment of conscious and determined young people. We hope that the various proposals put forward will be taken into consideration by decision-makers when developing their public policies.

Long live Africa! Long live FIJADA! Long live the DRC!

Sincerely,

Lumeya Masuta Jonathan
