The DRC is connecting to the GLOBAL GEOPORTAL. This is what emerged from a 3-day workshop organized at the Sultani River Hotel by the Ministry of Territorial Planning. Held from December 16 to 18, 2024, this workshop focused on the formalization of the Earth Observation Group "GEO". Two Professors represented the University of Kinshasa at this meeting: Professor Holy HOLENU, expert in GEOMATICS from the Faculty of Science and Technology and Professor Raphael TSHIMANGA from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Several areas are concerned by the GEO Earth Observation Group: water resource management, biodiversity and ecosystems, climate change, disaster risk reduction, energy and mineral resources, food security and sustainable agriculture, sustainable development goals, public health and sustainable urban development.
