As part of its mission to promote academic excellence and African integration, the University of Kinshasa was worthily represented at the Africa Youth Congress 2024, held in Kampala, Uganda, on January 16 and 17, 2024.
Under the theme "Africanism is modernizing alongside culture," this pan-African event brought together young leaders, academics, and decision-makers from across the continent to reflect on ways to modernize African identity while preserving its fundamental cultural values.
An opportunity for inter-university collaboration
Our coordination actively participated in panels and workshops, addressing in particular:
Strategies for integrating African culture into modern education systems.
The role of youth in the preservation and modernization of Africanism.
Academic partnerships as vectors of development for African universities.
Through these exchanges, valuable connections have been established with representatives of several African universities. These interactions open up encouraging prospects for:
The establishment of student and teacher exchange programs.
Sharing good practices in research and innovation.
The implementation of collaborative projects on themes of common interest.
Strengthening the University of Kinshasa's commitment. The University of Kinshasa intends to capitalize on these opportunities by:
Formalizing partnership agreements with the institutions encountered.
Encouraging intra-African mobility for its students and teachers.
Integrating more initiatives promoting African culture on campus.
This participation once again illustrates the commitment of the University of Kinshasa, through student coordination, to play a key role in strengthening academic and cultural links between African institutions.
Towards a shared future, Africa Youth Congress 2024 marks an important milestone in our university's pan-African vision. We remain convinced that these collaborations will contribute to modernizing higher education while promoting our cultural heritage.
