On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the delegation from the University of Kinshasa, led by the Cooperation and International Relations Management Unit of the University of Kinshasa and the Director of the Confucius Institute, composed of Mulan scholarship students, learners from the Confucius Institute-UNIKIN and the Focal Point professors of the Unit, visited the Kinsuka high-voltage substation, as part of an activity on the contribution of Sino-Congolese cooperation, organized with the support of the Chinese Embassy.
The visit allowed the students to explore a modern energy infrastructure that was built by a Chinese state-owned company called Shanghai Electric in partnership with the National Electricity Company of the DRC.
This station supplies a large part of the west of the City Province of Kinshasa.
The project, which came to fruition in 2021 and was funded by Shanghai Electric at 85%, combines computerization and empowerment.
The visit allowed participants to directly experience the wonderful experience of a collaboration whose technological transfer contributes to the well-being of a large part of Congolese citizens (nearly 2 million inhabitants served by this project).
It is worth noting that this activity is part of the Strategic Partnership between UNIKIN and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China.
