UNIKIN highlights the results of its research at the 47th edition of the Congolese International Fair in Kinshasa
To enable participants to discover and appreciate the products and research results of the University of Kinshasa. This is the main objective of its participation in the 47th edition of the Congolese International Fair of Kinshasa (FICKIN), under the theme “Fair of Peace and National Unity for the Stability of Trade.”
The inaugural conference took place this Friday, August 22, 2025, in Pavilion 19 of FICKIN. Organized over two days, Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23, this conference was launched by the representative of Rector Jean-Marie KAYEMBE, Professor Marie-Claire YANDJU, Secretary General for Research (SGR) of UNIKIN.
Three distinguished speakers enriched the debates around major themes: Professor Daniel MULENDA analyzed the theme: “Fair trade, a vector of peace between men and between nations.” He emphasized that those who support wars and instability impose precariousness on people. Hence his call to support peace and promote living together as a basis for wealth production.
Professor Marie-Claire YANDJU, SGR of UNIKIN, presented a reflection on: “Agricultural entrepreneurship and commercial competitiveness in the face of the challenges of the AfCFTA: compliance with standards, quality and production.” She argued that technological and product innovation makes it possible to transform the value chain into a profit chain. The promotion of scientific innovations is therefore a key lever for strengthening the competitiveness of offers and economic development.
Works Manager Max VANGU, for his part, addressed the theme: “Towards a low-carbon cement industry in the DRC: the UNIKIN roadmap.” He asserted that the adoption of eco-efficient cements represents a major economic, environmental and strategic lever for the country.
At the opening, the Director General of FICKIN, Head of Works Didier KABAMPELE NGABUL, delivered a welcoming speech, during which he publicly announced the partnership between FICKIN and the University of Kinshasa.
