2023, YEAR II OF THE GENERAL SECRETARIAT FOR RESEARCH, YEAR OF THE BEGINNING OF WEALTH CREATION AT UNIKIN?

On Friday, February 3, 2323, around thirty "Unikin" students or young graduates, project managers and a lecturer-researcher exchanged ideas with Rector Jean-Marie Kayembe and the Secretary General for Research (SGR) Antoine Tshimpi. The aim was to take stock of various research projects, initiatives, entrepreneurship incubations, and job creation, presented by students last year (around fifteen), and to assess their progress. Seven were discussed and most deserve to be supported. Among these projects, we can note, in fact, (i) a project, already very advanced, of manufacturing cement based on a particular limestone but widely available in the DRC, which has the advantage of reducing the rate of waste from approximately 42% (for standard cement) to 16%, less polluting (significant reduction in the quantity of CO2 released); protective of the environment therefore and much more solid. Scientific publications are already available, an experimental stage already carried out. This ecological cement is in the large-scale production phase and is the fruit of the self-sacrifice of a Head of Works and the supervision of motivated Teacher-Researchers; (ii) a microenterprise which produces wines based on different products of our region, such as ginger, pineapple, orange, etc.
