Résumé

Postoperative Proterozoic polycyclic basement near Matadi actually recognized as affected by both the Kimezian (Paleoproterozoic) and West-Congo (Neoproterozoic) tectonic metamorphic events is performed, at all scales, by rocks with cataclastic texture. It includes a NE-SW foliation (S1), accompanied with P1 syn-schistose folds, fewly sloped to the NW, drawing a SE spilled anticlinal structure. A NW-SE steeply dipping second foliation, marked by chlorite, biotite and muscovite and of regional amplitude, is attached to the Panafrican. In the present paper, using the field’s data and the remote sensing interpretation of the Congo basin’s abstract picture, we proved the anteriority of the M’pozo alkali syenite and the Noqui granite intrusions, intersecting this basement, long time before the Panafrican deformation, suggested by four generations of intersected fractures and by the presence, both in the two plutonic rocks, of the retrograde metamorphism markers (chlorite, biotite, etc.) suffered by the surrounding terranes during the West-Congo orogeny. Therefore, completing data still fragmentary in this West-Congo belt’s area, we hope to contribute to better calibrate these events and thus understand the spatial and temporal relationships between the various orogenic segments resulting from the assembly of West-Gondwana.
