The Mgr Luc Gillon Promotions Hall was packed, not with students, but with Unikin's top scientists: nearly 1,200 apprentices and doctoral students. A first at Unikin.
Following the operationalization of the resolutions of the general assembly of higher and university education, Unikin decided to organize a double session of popularization and collection of opinions from the university community on the issue of doctoral schools.
For two days, from 1er As of February 2, 2022, the Unikin Management Committee, the Deans of Faculties, members of departmental offices, heads of Research Centers and Laboratories, members of research supervision committees, and senior teacher-researchers have familiarized themselves with, discussed, and provided suggestions on the new high-level training policy at Unikin with the aim of implementing scientific quality assurance. The Management Committee has determined the expected deliverables for senior and junior researchers as well as the policy for mobilizing funds for research.


In accordance with the vision, values and missions of the management committee, the opinions and considerations of doctoral students and learners (target audiences) present in the room were welcome.
The discussions focused mainly on:
- Training and popularization of new doctoral training provisions (in doctoral schools and no longer in faculties),
- The presentation of scientific performance indicators 2021-2022 (quantity and quality of deliverables expected in each research unit for 2022),
- The issue of the viability and indexing of journals in quality assurance structures as well as the policy (software) for combating plagiarism and other anti-values.
On February 1, 2022, 1er day of the assizes, the Professors Lututala And Ngonga instructed the assembly on the current vision of doctoral schools And practical arrangements for the implementation of the reforms of the general states of higher and university education. Heated debates ensued under the moderation of the Professor Michel Bisa.
In the opening address of these meetings, the Rector of Unikin, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba deplored the absence of Unikin in African rankings. It is time for Unikin to make a commitment to influence and scientific excellence. This is achieved through reforms in the education system. He further stated that these meetings would provide real milestones for the operation of future doctoral schools. The date of 1er February 2022 will mark the beginning of a new era.
On the 2nd day, Professor Michel Bisa spoke about Scientific performance indicators and 2021-2022 objective contracts between Unikin and its research units. The Secretary General for Research, the Professor Antoine Tshimpi Wola spoke about the Funds for research and their mobilization. The moderation of February 2, 2022 was provided by the Dr. Harry Kayembe.
In his closing remarks, the Secretary General for Research Professor Antoine Tshimpi Wola addressed special thanks to the Deans and Vice Deans of the Faculties for their mobilization and participation in these training sessions which he then closed with an anecdote: Lucid dreaming.
