Launch of the Second Regrouping of the Regional Doctoral College “Humanities and Societies” (CDHS) at the University of Kinshasa

Under the auspices of the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, the Regional Doctoral College “Humanities and Societies” initiative aims to improve the training of doctoral students in the region while strengthening the impact of research. Launched in 2021 by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie and its partners, this program supports the second cohort of 20 doctoral students from various countries in the region.
The meeting, scheduled for June 18-21, 2024, at the University of Kinshasa, will offer doctoral students cross-disciplinary training complementary to their original programs. This event will include seminars, workshops, and conferences to enhance their skills and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
The main objective of this meeting is to assess the progress of doctoral students' research. Conferences, personalized coaching, networking sessions, and the sharing of best practices will be at the heart of the activities.
The doctoral students will be supervised by 13 lecturer-researchers from the region, who will guide them through research presentations and thematic workshops. Each doctoral student will receive constructive feedback to refine their research, in areas ranging from norms and powers to artistic and heritage creation.
