It was held in the promotion hall of the University of Kinshasa, from March 7 to 9, 2022, on the 1er Training workshop on the LMD system, Bachelor-Master-Doctorate, a new university education system for the DRC. Four Unikin Faculties have already experimented with it: Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sciences, Polytechnics.
The Minister of Higher and University Education (ESU), Muhindo Nzangi Butondo, enhanced the opening ceremony of the said conference with his presence. He affirmed that at this stage, the reform is imposed as the only legal system included in the framework law on the organization of national education of February 2014. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Head of State and the government to carry out this reform in the DRC. He congratulated the organization of this 1er workshop that will pave the way for the full integration of Unikin into this process.
In his speech for the occasion, the Academic Secretary General of Unikin, the Professor Eustache Banza, addressed his thanks to the Minister of ESU whose name will remain engraved in the history of the Reform of university education. The same thanks were transmitted to the President of the Republic and to the 1e Minister. He presented the traditional approach to teaching as one that places the teacher at the center of the system and the modern approach as one that places the student at the center of the system. He dwelled on Baldwin's theory, which proposes a specific selection mechanism based on learning abilities. The Rector of Unikin, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, welcomed everyone present, while encouraging everyone to familiarize themselves with this new system.

The inaugural conference focused on the “Legal and educational fundamentals of the LMD system” by the Professor Kabule Wetu Weva, Permanent Secretary of the CPE (Permanent Studies Commission).
Other themes followed, developed over the 3 days of workshops:
- “Implementation of the LMD system”, Mr. Martin Makumbu Nseka, CPE expert.
- “Circular requirements of the LMD system”, Professors Gamela and Kisangani.
- “Preparation of lessons and description of teaching units”, Prof. Kabule And Mr. Makumbu.
- “Innovative teaching methods according to the LMD system”, Prof. Kabule And Mr. Makumbu.
- “Pedagogical integration of ICT according to the LMD system”, Mr. Makumbu.
- “Evaluation of learning and teaching”, Prof. Kabule And Mr. Makumbu.
THE Professor Pascal Kapagama Ikando, coordinator and moderator of this workshop, read the summary of the general report. This was followed by the presentation of participation certificates.
After the words of the Academic Secretary General of Unikin, the Rector closed this 1er Training workshop on the LMD system. Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba warmly thanked the participants for this three-day sacrifice despite their multiple occupations. Unikin, being the eldest daughter of Congolese universities, must succeed in this reform to serve as a model for other academic institutions. The CPE received a standing ovation from the audience for its sense of pedagogy, a modest gift coming from the bottom of the heart. Sincere thanks to the organizers and apologies to all those who felt frustrated during this workshop. The LMD is a dynamic process.
