Pierre Sedi's Cerebro project has just won first prize at the first edition of the African Youth Competition in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, this Thursday, October 17, 2024.
This competition, created by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) in partnership with ELE-VATE, evaluated, from February to September, more than 1,000 competitors from the 55 countries of the African Union.
Ir. Sedi's team, composed of Boris Ikula, Daniel Mabanza, and Samuel Matia, all from the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Kinshasa, was striking in its relevance: the control of robotic systems from brain waves using advanced Artificial Intelligence, useful for people with severe disabilities.
As the team was unable to attend the award ceremony in Dar es Salaam, the DRC Embassy in Tanzania delegated Mr. Ghislain Ntita, who received the continental award from Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, representing HE President Samia Suluhu, who was unable to attend.
