The Secretary General for Research at the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), Professor Antoine Tshimpi, reaffirmed on Friday, during a press briefing at UNIKIN, the management committee's determination to urgently relaunch research in order to enhance the visibility of this alma mater and its reappearance in the ranking of the best universities in Africa and the world.
Professor Tshimpi, who closed the series of public defenses of the theses for the year 2020-2021, praised the quality of more than 87 theses produced at UNIKIN this academic year.
He recalled the obligation to publish each doctoral research in internationally renowned journals before its public defense.
The capitalization, digitization and publication of scientific research results in international standards, faculty libraries and virtual central libraries are all instruments that should be used to relaunch research at UNIKIN.
The new position of Secretary General for Research at UNIKIN, filled by the Minister of ESU Muhindo Nzangi for more than two months, was decided during the general assembly held from 06 to 14 in Lubumbashi, to reverse the trilogy: "teaching - research - service to society", to the trilogy: "research - teaching - service to society", with a view to promoting research in Congolese universities and higher institutes.
