- Research Week, from April 4 to 10, 2022 (Week 14; 2022), saw two major events:
- SGR working sessions with research officers (including a university Vice-President) in France and;
- A workshop organized by the Governance Observatory-OG, coordinated by Professor Musao, and headed by the Secretary General for Research at Unikin, Professor TSHIMPI.
- SGR working sessions with research officers (including a university Vice-President) in France
Developing a research policy requires a thorough understanding of one's environment and specific characteristics, but also an openness to what others are doing in the DRC, Africa, and elsewhere. Initial contacts with a few African universities have already proven beneficial; the management committee is continuing its contacts with other universities to strengthen its vision of research, particularly with regard to doctoral training.
- Workshop organized by the Governance Observatory-OG, coordinated by Professor Musao, and led by the Secretary General for Research of Unikin, Professor TSHIMPI.
This workshop focused on training in the research profession: Research, writing and publication in indexed journals, with impact factor.
No fewer than 320 participants, including 70 who attended remotely, responded; a sign, if any were still needed, that many of us have realized our interest in getting involved in research.
Several experts, committed to the cause, devoted their days to it; we can cite, for example, Professors Lututala, Musao, Bouju (from France), Ayimpam, Mpiana (Researcher No. 1 on Google Scholar for Unikin), Bisa, Memvanga, Ebweme, Holenu, Kienge-Kienge, Molua, Kisangani, Mwadi, Abedi; but also many learners, "memorants", doctoral students.
Several topics and practical cases were covered, such as: How to set up a bankable research project? What pitfalls to avoid? The benefits of team research, how to create your researcher identifier (ORCID), how to choose a journal for publication, the basics of writing a scientific article, etc. Individual testimonials convinced the audience of the individual and collective benefits of not hesitating to get started!
- Short Quiz on the Researcher's Guide
What book or scientific article did you read last week, and what's scheduled for this week? Are you writing an article? Have you chosen a journal? Have you checked that it's well-indexed and not predatory? Have you indicated your institution, whether alone or in association with another institution? University of Kinshasa or University of Kinshasa?
There's no room for pointless controversy, dear colleague. Our country needs all of us, so research will never let you down.
