Research Weekly No. 8/2022 Rankings are coming to the University of Kinshasa, long live the Rankings!
The Rankings are coming to the University of Kinshasa, … long live the Rankings!
Unikin's first internal rankings are fast approaching; they will be published at the end of May. The research team at the general secretariat has been "on deck" for several weeks and has taken even greater heights this last week of Research, No. 8, from May 8 to May 15, 2022 (Week 18; 2022).
Some of us have already sent our performance charts, Professor Longo Mbenza of Medicine, 1er of the class (and I congratulate him!), even returned his booklet of scientific deliverables very early; I exult with joy when I see that.
No one, no scientist, no researcher, no teacher, at Unikin, has the right to miss this event, which must be experienced as the accomplishment of a milestone and not as a constraint. We all owe it to ourselves, to honor our status (a researcher, a University Professor is not just anyone, he does not do like the others, he does more than the others, ...), we all owe it to our institution.
This is how Unikin, the eldest daughter of higher and university education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will show everyone the direction, this is how it will assume its responsibilities, in excellence. It is not a weakness to believe in our abilities, in our skills, but it is up to us to demonstrate it. More than words, we now need more actions. And filling out and submitting our individual performance tables is an opportunity given to all of us to demonstrate ourselves.
Everyone is concerned: specialized schools, research centers (under penalty of no longer being accredited by Unikin), researchers, scientists, etc. Our supervisory Minister believes in our performances, he expects to see us again in the rankings (I was going to say the championships…) most highly rated in the world. But first to see us reappear on these radars that we left, that we deserted for too long!
Ah, I must not forget to tell you, in some corners of the world, some international scientific platforms have noted some positive upheavals at Unikin, particularly in relation to research, especially since the end of 2021… Some wrote to us a week ago, requesting exchanges, meetings, even virtual ones! This is the fruit, beginning, of all our efforts, which we must maintain, modestly, to hope to reach the summit, the good place of Unikin. Anti-values do not have, no longer have, their place there.
The repeated meetings of the SGR Experts, the exchanges with the CRIIC, dear to Professors Kalele and Ebweme, with the research center of the Faculty of Law, dear to Professor Esambo, a new scientific day in progress on Etienne Tshisekedi, the first Doctor of Law of the DRC, dear to Mingashang and another day around all the alumni of Unikin, today occupying high positions in the DRC, dear to our Minister of Defense, Excellency Kabanda, to a team including Professor Mingashang, some experts from the SGR, etc. The weeks remain dynamic and full at the SGR. Let us stop focusing on what separates us, let us look at what brings us together and what makes our strength, the strength of the DRC, once again, in excellence.
To anyone who might discourage you from playing your part in this dynamic (they are really few, fortunately), ask them what their real motivation is? Why are they putting so much energy into useless positions that go against the grain? Let's not waste our time, let's fill out and return our tables to our VDR(SA)!
- Remember
- Week of May 16 to 23, the SGAC, Professor Eustache Banza, is organizing a workshop, with all the VDE, on the application of the LMD at Unikin; he obviously has the full support of the Rector and the entire management committee;
- Continuation of work on the Development Plan for the 145 territories, contributions from Unikin (Professors Ngombe, Bisa, Ntoto and SGR Experts);
- Continuation of work on “What solutions to resolve traffic jams in the city-province of Kinshasa; contributions from Unikin” (Professors Emina, SGR Experts);
- Continuation of the Unikin-Manioc Project (Professors Yandzu and SGR Experts)
If you have any ideas, constructive ones of course, please do not hesitate to contact the SGR.
Have a good end of Sunday everyone.
Proud to be from Unikin, the First!
