Strengthening Sino-Congolese cooperation: UNIKIN signs a memorandum of understanding with the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

As part of his official visit to the People's Republic of China, the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, the Prof. Dr. Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, carried out, the June 19, 2025, a high-level visit to the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. He was accompanied by the Prof. Dr. Fidèle Nyimi, Director of the Cooperation and International Relations Management Unit for the Asian region, as well as senior officials from the DRC Embassy in China.

This meeting was marked by a warm welcome of the Rector Professor Yan Xiangbin, and by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on inter-university cooperation in several academic and scientific departments.

Following this signing, Prof. Kayembe took part in a series of strategic workshops with the deans of the Institute of African Studies, the Institute of Asian Studies, as well as the Faculty of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These exchanges laid the foundations for future pilot study missions, expected from September 2025.

This initiative is part of the vision of strengthening UNIKIN's academic diplomacy and its international openness, particularly towards Asia.
