“Sleep Apnea Syndromes: Myth or Reality in Kinshasa? A Plea for Rational Management of This Pathology in Underprivileged Areas”

This was the title of the thesis defended this Friday, April 21, 2023 in the digital library of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa by the Head of Works, Dr OKAKA K'ELOTA Boniface.

This academic session was chaired by Professor Arsène MWAKA BWENGE, Budget Administrator of the University of Kinshasa, representing the Rector of UNIKIN, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, Supervisor of the thesis.

The Recipient, Internist-Pulmonologist, brilliantly developed the issue of sleep apnea syndrome. Thus, he advocated for the improvement of the management of SAHOS in Kinshasa; the training of Doctors; the equipping of health structures with nocturnal oximetry, polygraphy, ventilation and polysomnography; awareness and information of the population on syndromes suggestive of SAHOS and the risk.
