Visit to UNIKIN by Professor Pierre Duysinx, Vice-Rector for Mobility and International Relations at the University of Liège

The University of Kinshasa welcomed, this Tuesday, May 3, 2023, Mr. Pierre DUYSINX, Vice-Rector for Mobility and International Affairs, from the University of Liège.
The Vice-Rector of Liège is a Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Aerospace and Mechanics. He specializes in land vehicle engineering, aerospace, and mechanics.
After being welcomed by the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, and his Management Committee, and after signing the Guest Book, the delegation moved to the Monekoso Room, where the Vice-Rector of the University of Liège gave a lecture on the evolution of transport in Kinshasa: Cross-Views Europe-Africa.
This scientific conference highlighted that in our postmodern world, we need to rethink our mode of mobility, regardless of our environment. This is especially true given that Africa is suffering from the air pollution produced on other continents.
To this end, the solution linked to mobility problems, to be considered from the 2030 horizon, would be the use of electric motors because the materials are available and less polluting and thus contribute to the circular and social economy.
A crucial question for the DRC: are we ready to move toward this goal? We must be aware of the challenges of the green economy, which are preoccupying scientists and civil society alike.
UNIKIN-SOLUTION you have your work cut out for you.
