Workshop on doctoral research at the University of Kinshasa: From registration to thesis defense
The Doctoral Research Training Workshop, held at the University of Kinshasa on January 22 and 23, 2025, brought together a number of key academic stakeholders. This event, held in the Monekosso Room, provided participants with essential information for a successful doctoral program, from registration to thesis defense.
The main objective of this workshop was to provide a framework conducive to the exchange of experiences and the acquisition of practical know-how on doctoral research.
Professor Marie-Claire Yandju, Secretary General for Research, emphasized the importance of doctoral research in the University of Kinshasa. In her speech, she highlighted the need to promote research results through publications, dissertations, and articles in high-quality journals, as well as through participation in academic conferences.
This scientific meeting was officially opened by Professor Bruno LAPIKA, Administrative Secretary General, who represented the Rector, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, due to his inability to attend. The workshop brought together members of the administrative offices, department heads, professors, supervisors of current theses, as well as postgraduate students and doctoral candidates.
This opportunity for exchange and knowledge sharing strengthened the academic community in its quest for excellence and fostered the emergence of future innovative research at the University of Kinshasa. Participants left with a clearer vision of their doctoral journey and the tools they needed to succeed in their research projects.
