Assessment of the Reform of the Congolese National Police: An Analysis of the Scientific Morning at the University of Kinshasa

The University of Kinshasa, through its School of Criminology, organized a scientific morning on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in the Monekosso Hall. This event brought together a distinguished audience of police officers and state political figures.
Consultants from the School of Criminology brilliantly presented an in-depth impact study on the reform of the Congolese National Police. Emmanuel Kabengele, the coordinator of the RRSSJ, emphasized that the PNC reform currently appears to be stagnating, suggesting a degree of incompleteness. Dr. Jean-René Mabwilo highlighted the paradox of the living and working conditions of police officers, highlighting critical aspects to consider.

Student-Researcher Eric ONYUNGE provided an innovative perspective by presenting young people's opinions on the PNC reform, thus offering a valuable perspective on the generational perception of this process. Finally, Professor Raoul KIENGE-KIENGE, Director General of the school, summarized the major findings of this study, highlighting the main observations and recommendations.
In a speech full of gratitude, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA praised the efforts made by the School of Criminology to provide quality service to the community, thus underlining the commitment of the University of Kinshasa in achieving its primary mission.
