Congolese students from China present a digital security system at UNIKIN.
The Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe, received a group of Congolese students studying in China on Monday, July 28, 2025. These young innovators came to present a digital security system based on facial recognition, developed as part of the academic exchanges initiated during the Rector's recent mission to China.
At the heart of their demonstration: a smart door capable of opening automatically for anyone whose face is recognized and registered in the system. Conversely, access is denied to unregistered and unknown faces.
This device will initially be installed at the main entrances of the campus to effectively control incoming and outgoing flows, with automatic report generation. In a second phase, the smart doors will be placed in front of each faculty, allowing access to be limited to students who have paid their academic fees, without them having to present any proof during the check.
They are: 1. ASSINA KEZA DANDY, formerly of UNIKIN
2. NTUMBA NKONGOLO Albert, former UNIKIN
3. Jotham BOKOMBE KWALE, former UPC
Jérémie KUNIMA, Rectorate.
