Two University of Kinshasa alumni recently attended the prestigious Africa Fintech Summit, held in Washington, DC, on the sidelines of the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings. This major event brought together key African fintech players, including startups, investors, banking regulators, and government representatives from several countries.
The Congolese delegation proudly participated in this meeting, with representatives from the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Washington, the Ministry of Telecommunications and startups based in
Kinshasa. Congolese startups Faithful Tech and FLECHE TECHNOLOGIE SARL have particularly attracted attention for their achievements.
Faithful Tech, a startup represented by Fidèle Nsadi, stood out with its Fintech Express App platform. The platform generated significant interest due to its innovative features and ability to facilitate financial transactions.
As for FLECHE TECHNOLOGIE SARL, it impressed attendees with its Motema tablets. This company, headed by Dieudonné Kayembe, specializes in the production and marketing of these technological devices.
The presence of these two startups demonstrated the dynamism and potential of Congolese entrepreneurs in the field of financial technology. Their participation in the Africa Fintech Summit helped strengthen ties with other players in the sector and promote emerging innovations from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
These achievements also demonstrate the importance of the education and training provided by the University of Kinshasa. By training skilled and innovative students, this institution plays a vital role in developing the DRC's fintech ecosystem and fostering the emergence of local talent that stands out internationally.
