Strong presence of the School of Public Health of the University of Kinshasa at the 1st International Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health of Brazzaville (CIESPB)
It was held from February 27 to 1er March 2025, at the Kintélé International Conference Center under the label of the Congolese Medical Society (SMC), in collaboration with its scientific and institutional partners, the Ier Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health of Brazzaville (CIESPB). With the theme "From scientific evidence to better decision-making", this 1er CIESPB brought together more than 450 participants from 15 countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo. Several thematic areas were addressed during these meetings, including practices and experiences of health programs; diseases with epidemic potential; determinants of health; population and aging; treatment effectiveness; neglected tropical diseases and HIV/AIDS/Tuberculosis/Malaria.
Twelve learners from the School of Public Health of the University of Kinshasa, mainly from the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the DRC with its support partners including CDC, AFENET, REDISSE, AFRICA CDC took part in the 1er CIESPB to present and share the results of their field research/achievements. Funded by UG PDSS as part of the Project to Strengthen Disease Surveillance Systems in Central Africa (REDISSE IV), their participation consisted of a total of 15 oral presentations and 5 written presentations. The team was accompanied by Professor Aimée Lulebo, Training Officer at the Kinshasa School of Public Health, and Dr. Linda Matadi, Executive at AFENET.
