ACADEMIES OF SCIENCE AND THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH

At the apex of the intelligentsia of every developed and emerging country are the academies of science, whose essential role is to provide reasoned, evidence-based advice to the government and other stakeholders. A science academy is an essential instrument for a country's development and progress.

The Academies of Sciences, some of which are more than three hundred years old, are associations of high-level scientists, recognized by their peers, who agree to come together to put their skills at the service of the community.
