DAY OF DISCUSSION ON THE JOINT PROGRAM OF INVESTMENTS FOR ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2020 AT UNIKIN

The Congolese Agency for Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development (ACTEDD), which has its headquarters at the Presidency of the Republic, organized on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in collaboration with the University of Kinshasa a day of discussions on the Joint Investment Program for Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development.

The objective is to collect the opinions and comments of the university community, civil society organizations, experts and other stakeholders interested in this program, which must be developed through a participatory process.

The agenda for this activity consisted of two parts:

1era part : Official opening session during which the many participants who came to the Mgr Luc GILLON promotions room followed three presentations:

  1. Welcome address from the Rector of UNIKIN represented by the SGAD, Professor Godefroid KABENGELE DIBWE;
  2. Speech of the Special Advisor to the Head of State for the Environment and Delegate of the President of the Republic to the ACTEDD Steering Committee, Professor Dieudonné MOSIBONO EYUL'ANKI.

He reminded the participants of this Day of the importance that the President of the Republic places on the Ecological Transition and Agriculture. He then revealed to the public the mission of ACTEDD.

  1. Presentation of the content of the Joint Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development Program project by the Deputy Coordinator of the Congolese Agency for Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development (ACTEDD), Professor Jean de Dieu MINENGU.

2th part : This part of the Day's activity was structured around the presentations of the sub-programs, six in total.

1er Subroutine, entitled: “Sustainable Agriculture”

Speaker: Professor Apollinaire BILOSO from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UNIKIN.

2th Subroutine, entitled: Reconstitution of forest capital and valorization of forest resources at the local level”.

Speaker: Mr. Maurice MATANDA, Head of Division at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

3th Sub-Program, entitled: “Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Services”.

Speaker: Head of Works Lina NGOMBA from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UNIKIN.

4th Sub-Program, entitled: “Electrification through the promotion of renewable energies and accessibility to water services”.

Speaker: Professor Serge PANGU from the Faculty of Sciences of UNIKIN.

5th Sub-Program, entitled: “Sustainable cities and eco-villages”.

Speaker: Mr. Michel MBUMBA, Head of Works, from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UNIKIN.

6th Sub-Program, entitled: “Consolidation of the achievements (results) of the programs/projects implemented between 2015 and 2020”.

Speaker: Doctoral student Emmanuel NGWAMASHI MIHAHA from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UNIKIN.

Following the presentation of the Joint Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development Programme by the Deputy Coordinator of ACTEDD and the Sub-Programmes by well-chosen speakers, there were positive exchanges between the participants and all the speakers.

Among the participants in the work of the Exchange Day organized on October 7, 2020 at UNIKIN by the Congolese Agency for Ecological Transition and Sustainable Development (ACTEDD), the presence of Advisors to the Presidency of the Republic, Secretaries General of Ministries and Directors General of public enterprises directly concerned by the aforementioned Joint Program was observed.

The presence in the room of many professors, scientific and administrative staff and students was also noted.

It can be said that the objective set by the organizers of this Exchange Day has been achieved.
