What role does veterinary medicine play at the University of Kinshasa and within the Congolese community? This question was on the agenda of a conference and debate organized by the Faculty Delegation of Veterinary Medicine Students of UNIKIN this Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the headquarters of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). Several presentations punctuated this mass of knowledge, including:

• “The opportunities that exist in the veterinary profession” (Dr Roger LUBOYA);
• “Veterinary entrepreneurship” (Dr Alain MUKWA);
• “The contribution of the veterinarian in the health approach” (Dr Nathan KUTSHI);
• “The contribution of veterinary science to the history of health in general and to our community in particular” (Prof. Léopold MULUMBA MFUMU).

Professor Jean-Paul MBUYA KUTUMISA, representing Rector Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, expressed the hope that this type of activity would continue because, he pointed out, the veterinary profession does not yet benefit from recognition commensurate with its importance in the DRC.
