The University of Kinshasa, in collaboration with the Benelux Afro Center company, organized this Thursday, December 7, 2023, a Symposium on the Management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The event was led by Professor Bieyi Makal, Head of the Environmental Sciences and Management Department. He presented, among many panelists, a Strategic Plan for the Management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, integrating several disciplines including Law, Communication, Environment, Medicine, and Polytechnics.

This plan is expected to cement the University of Kinshasa's new vision, establishing a partnership with the public and private sectors, as well as University of Kinshasa employees and students. The partnership is expected to be finalized with stakeholders in the near future. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Management could spur the emergence of a green economy while creating thousands of jobs for Congolese youth.
