Fight against erosions, child psychiatry unit of the CNPP

Threatened by erosion, the Child Psychiatry Unit of the Neuro-Psycho-Pathological Center (CNPP) benefited from the services of the Department of the Environment of the Faculty of Sciences under the direct leadership of the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba.

It is in this context that the Rector of Unikin made a visit this Friday, January 21, 2022, to the CNPP site to personally inquire about the progress of the work to combat the erosion that threatened the Child Psychiatry Unit. Led by Professor Mampunza, this Unit takes care of the mental health of children and adolescents; it is the only one in the entire DRC.

During this short visit, the Rector of Unikin discovered the existence of the LOSA Workshop which promotes Art Therapy, a form of therapy through art, by developing the artistic expression of patients but which also offers a beginning of reintegration into society. Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe encouraged the supervisor of the said project to contact the Unikin Management Committee through its Research Secretary for greater promotion and visibility.
