The Department of Tropical Medicine is deeply committed to scientific research and capacity building beyond the country's borders. On July 2, 2025, Professor Hypolite Muhindo Mavoko and Professor Patrick Mitashi Mulopo were jury members and PhD supervisors, respectively, of Dr. Gwen Lemey and Dr. Maha Salloum, from the University of Antwerp in Belgium. These theses follow the series of those of Dr. Trésor Zola Matuvanga and Dr. Ynke Larivière defended last year and resulting from the EBOVAC3 project in which UNIKIN collaborated with several institutions.
