Four speeches of circumstance introduced these days:

  • THE Professor Justin Mboloko Esimo, Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at CUK.

He outlined the history of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and presented the department's management strategies. He stated that these first Gynecology and Obstetrics Days are part of continuing education.

  • Professor Jean-Robert Makulo Rissassy, Medical Director of CUK.

He congratulated the organizing committee of these days and welcomed all participants.

  • THE Professor Roger Mbungu Mwimba, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

He presented maternal mortality and infertility as major challenges in gynecology and obstetrics. Infertility, being a major challenge due to its frequency and its management, constitutes not only a medical problem but also a social problem because it weakens marital harmony.

  • THE Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, Rector of Unikin.

He declared the first Days of Gynecology and Obstetrics open while congratulating the Head of this department, whom he described as a true peaceful warrior.

The moderator, Professor Emmanuel Nzau Ngoma, had invited the audience to observe a minute of silence following the death the day before of one of the participants in the conference, Dr. Cédric Tshibumbu Kalela. A dark page for these conferences.
