Entrepreneurial projects: 10 Congolese students in the final of the “My idea, my business” competition
Ten students from four universities and one higher education institute in the Democratic Republic of Congo participated this Saturday, both in person and online, in the final of the "My Idea, My Business" competition, organized by the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
« Des 20 projets d’entreprise sélectionnés pour la demi-finale, 10 issus de l’Université de Kinshasa (UNIKIN), Université de Lubumbashi (UNILU), Université catholique du Congo (UCC), Université de Kisangani (UNIKIS) et de l’Institut facultaire de Yangambi » sont passés en finale nationale , a fait savoir M. Gratien Mundia, le Représentant pays de de l’AUF en RDC.
"This is the third consecutive year that the AUF is organizing the inter-regional competition called 'My Idea, My Business' in the DRC. The selection process began on March 1, 2024, with 49 students," he said.
This competition, said Gratien Mundia, aims to promote and encourage the development of the entrepreneurial spirit in the university environment and strengthen the employability of Congolese students.

This third edition focused on students and doctoral candidates from AUF member institutions in order to offer them the opportunity and the means to transform their ideas into real business projects.
Their projects, according to Mr. Mundia, will bring added value and thus contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
"This is why the AUF's regional directorates for Central Africa and the Great Lakes, West Africa and Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean, as well as the Caribbean, were involved in organizing this edition," he stressed.
The winning student of this final will represent the DRC in the inter-regional competition which will take place in June 2024 in Luanda, Angola.
